Cacicazgo, resguardo y hacienda de terraje: referentes de la memoria territorial de las luchas del pueblo Nasa-Paéz

Resumen

Este capítulo tiene como objetivo explicar las transformaciones geohistóricas y políticas del Cacicazgo, el resguardo y la hacienda de terraje como referentes territoriales del pueblo Nasa-Paéz en el Cauca colombiano. Aquí se realiza una reconstrucción de la memoria territorial que está presente en la historia de larga duración de este pueblo y que se relaciona con estas tres formas de territorio. Estos referentes territoriales se mantienen presentes en la memoria política de las comunidades indígenas, por lo tanto, abordarlos permitirá explicar la construcción integral tanto físico-material, como cultural-simbólica del concepto de Territorio, que acompaña las estrategias geopolíticas emprendidas por el pueblo Nasa-Paéz en su larga lucha por la recuperación de sus tierras, la cual se mantiene en el Cauca contemporáneo.

Abstract

This chapter aims to explain the geohistorical and political transformations of the cacicazgo, the resguardo and the hacienda de terraje as territorial referents of the Nasa-Paéz people in the Colombian Cauca. Here, a reconstruction of the territorial memory present in the long history of this indigenous people which is linked to these three forms of territory. These territorial referents remain alive in the political memory of these indigenous communities, therefore addressing them will allow us to explain the integral construction, both physical-material and cultural-symbolic, of the concept of Territory, which accompanies the geopolitical strategies undertaken by the Nasa-Paéz people in their long struggle for recovery  their lands, which is still kept in the contemporary Cauca.
